Amanda G. Chafin Presents at National Business Institute HR Law Seminar

On September 20, Amanda G. Chafin, associate in Buchanan’s labor and employment section, presented two topics at the National Business Institute’s (NBI) “Human Resource Law from A to Z” two-day seminar. Amanda’s first topic, “Imperative Information That Every Employee Handbook Should Contain” covered necessary disclaimers and employee classifications, laws and policies, parameters of employment and responsible social media policies. Her second topic, "FMLA and Other Leave Issues" addressed the overlap between the FMLA and the ADA, creating effective leave policies, and solving complex leave issues.
