ABA Section of Litigation Woman Advocate Committee Roundtable Series - Being "It All:" Keeping Values Straight and Valuing Your Strengths
Teresa Beck, Of Counsel in Buchanan's Litigation section, will moderate a panel discussing a chapter in a book she co-wrote, "Her Story: Lessons in Success From Lawyers Who Live It," a collection of work-life management stories told by people in a variety of legal positions. As part of the ABA Section of Litigation's roundtable series, the Woman Advocate Committee presents a discussion about the chapter "Being "It All:" Keeping Values Straight and Valuing Your Strengths."
Speakers include:
- Gindi Eckel Vincent – Project Counsel, Exxon Mobil Chemical Company
- Andrea Doneff – Circuit Mediator, U.S. Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit
- Janet Wallace – a founding partner of O'Leary Wallace LLP
Panel members will address ways in which attorneys have successfully merged family with career. They will address how each person can identify their own personal and professional values, prioritize family or career at different times and in different ways, and return to work after time away. There is no right or wrong; there is no standard measure of success, whether as parent or lawyer. Ultimately, each person can embrace her own “normal” and professionally capitalize on the strengths and skills that come from having a vibrant personal life.
