Lauren is a seasoned litigator in state and federal court. She has a vast array of experience in commercial litigation; large breach of contract actions; receiverships; financial securities litigation; disputes involving cryptocurrency and ICOs; class actions; labor and employment; restrictive covenants; tort-based claims; Chapter 400 claims; administrative actions for healthcare providers; claims arising under the FCCPA, FDCPA, and FCRA; product liability; toxic tort; and real estate disputes.

She first began her litigation practice in insurance defense representing large manufacturing companies in toxic tort litigation. In 2018, she transitioned to a full commercial practice, mostly defending companies in litigation involving complex business issues or breaches of contract. Lauren does not shy away from jury trials and has experience serving as lead counsel in both federal and state court.

Lauren serves as a frequent speaker on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. She spearheaded Buchanan’s Crypto 101 CLE series and serves as part of the Blockchain & Digital Assets practice group. Lauren speaks regularly about cryptocurrency, blockchain, and trial strategies at conferences nationwide. She currently serves as Lead Counsel for the Media Defendants in In Re: FTX Cryptocurrency Exchange Collapse Litigation, which is pending in the Southern District of Florida.

While in law school, Lauren was awarded “Outstanding Graduate” for the University of Florida’s trial advocacy program. During her time at UF, she served as Vice President of the Trial Team, President of the Law Association for Women, Chair of the Honor Court, and was selected by law faculty to interview U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in an all-campus event.

Lauren learned the value of pro bono representation when she advocated for sheltered children in Florida’s foster care system as a Guardian ad Litem. She has also served as Lead Trial Counsel in pro bono litigation involving a 1983 claim of a Florida inmate.

Lauren is regularly recognized as part of “Ones to Watch” for Commercial Litigation and is part of the 2023 and 2024 Florida Rising Stars® lists.

Outside the Office

Lauren loves living in Florida. Born and raised in Tampa, she enjoys baking, watching Tampa and Gator sports, and spending time with her husband and young son.
