Celebrating the Achievements of Black American Attorneys: A Conversation with Damien Atkins

In honor of Black History Month 2023, Buchanan's Diversity & Inclusion Council recently presented a webinar "Celebrating the Achievements of Black American Attorneys: A Conversation with Damien Atkins."

According to the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, only 25 black men serve as general counsel in the top Fortune 1000 companies in America. Damien Atkins has occupied two of those seats. Damien is former General Counsel at both Panasonic North America and The Hershey Company, as well as former Deputy General Counsel at AOL. He is currently the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel at Aura. During this fireside chat, we discussed Damien's career, his rise to the GC level and his thoughts on D&I in the legal profession. The conversation was led by Buchanan's Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Lloyd Freeman.
