How Minji Helps Clients

Minji is an associate in Buchanan’s Labor and Employment section.

Prior to joining Buchanan as a full-time associate, Minji researched and prepared memoranda for Buchanan as a summer associate on a variety of legal issues including international arbitration related to expropriation, the effect of disclaimers on promissory estoppel claims, evidence rules in white collar prosecution, and interstate healthcare licensing requirements.

In law school, Minji served as a student attorney and a research assistant for the Compliance Policy Clinic, the nation’s first law school clinic focused on compliance lawyering. She also served as an editor for the American Journal of Law & Medicine, a litigation intern in the Office of the General Counsel at the Executive Office of Human and Health Services of Massachusetts, and a legal compliance intern at the Massachusetts General Brigham Research Institute. Additionally, Minji participated in the Edward C. Stone Moot Court Competition and the Health Law Regulatory & Compliance Competition.

Outside of her legal work, Minji also served as an inaugural equity fellow for Boston University School of Law’s Student Affairs office under the Director of Diversity, Equity ,and Engagement and as a co-director of Boston University School of Law’s Be Yourself Orientation.

Outside the Office

Minji is a proud first-generation Korean-American immigrant and a 2020 recipient of the Don H. Liu Scholarship. She has lived abroad in Korea and Spain and is fully professionally proficient in both languages.

Prior to law school, Minji was a program director for the USDA National Hunger Clearinghouse, a personal trainer, a competitive powerlifter, and an associate at an international, luxury concierge start up. She continues to lift for recreation and enjoys painting and frequenting art museums.
