How Emily Helps Clients

Emily is an associate in the firm’s Labor & Employment section. Working on behalf of employers, Emily brings to her practice experience representing employees and labor unions in state and federal courts, before administrative tribunals, and at the National Labor Relations Board.

Emily’s heterogeneous insight into all phases of federal court litigation was enhanced by serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Arthur J. Schwab, United States District Judge for the Western District of Pennsylvania. In addition, she has been an adjunct professor of law at the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, helping students to hone practical trial advocacy skills in the Unemployment Compensation Practicum and providing an overview of workplace safety and labor law in Pitt’s HR Law Online program. Emily brings what she’s experienced, taught, and learned when working with clients to provide them with the most innovative solutions to any issue they face.

During law school, Emily served as an intern to the Honorable Nora Barry Fischer, United States District Judge for the Western District of Pennsylvania and was senior topics editor of the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. Prior to law school, Emily worked as a mobile crisis worker and forensic therapist for a community mental health center in rural Pennsylvania — an experience that helped sharpen the interviewing and investigation skills that she has put to use in employment litigation.
