Liz R. Lockett

Liz Lockett is Buchanan’s Chief Business Development Officer.  Liz leads the firm’s business development and marketing team in many strategic initiatives to strengthen the firm’s sustained growth and success with a focus on maximizing client value. The initiatives include cross-function industry and client teams, business development coaching programs, and client feedback facilitation, as well as marketing and communication initiatives to support the firm’s national platform.

Liz has dedicated her 25- year career in the legal industry to leading business development and marketing teams, and she has served on the executive leadership teams for many top law firms in the United States and around the globe. Notably, she managed the business development and marketing team of a 500-lawyer firm headquartered in the U.S. and supported the growth of one of the largest law firms in the world.

Liz is a frequent speaker and writer on the future of legal marketing. She often presents or authors articles on the business of law firms to examine how the industry can innovate to achieve increased business success and enhanced client value.
