- Before pivoting from his engineering career to the study and practice of IP law, Joshua served as a Senior Project Engineer and Engineering Consultant. In those roles, he oversaw product development and innovation in the instrumentation industry, including the design, development, and testing of high-performance mechanical and electrical systems sold into the aerospace, nuclear, and heavy industries. He also managed prototype development and testing.
- To comprehensively protect commercially valuable IP rights for product and technology innovations, Joshua draws from his prior work experience as an engineer, his leadership in the Product Development and Management Association (PDMA), and his understanding of the structured product innovation processes companies use to bring product innovations from concept to commercialization.
- Joshua is also recognized for his expertise in design law. Motivated by his passion for distinctive product designs and user interface designs, he fosters design differentiation and develops strategies for long-term IP rights using design patent, trade dress and trademark protections.
