Joe has more than 20 years of experience providing expert research and analysis in the fields of economics, international trade and finance, statistics, commodities, and manufacturing that clients utilize to protect and grow their businesses. Joe’s economic and international trade expertise provides critical support to Buchanan’s trade remedy work covering antidumping (AD), countervailing duty (CVD), and safeguard investigations. As a widely respected economist with extensive domestic and international consultancy, government and association management experience, Joe puts his broad range of research, analytical, and communications experience to work for clients, along with his extensive network of industry and government connections.
Joe previously served as the Chief Economist and Director of Commodities for the Recycled Materials Association (formerly known as ISRI), economist for the International Copper Study Group based in Lisbon, Portugal, and as a research and international trade analyst at Slayton & Associates. He has served as an advisor to CEO’s and C-suite executives on current and future economic and market conditions and as a non-partisan advisor to the U.S. Commerce Department and Office of the U.S. Trade Representative on trade matters.
